Getting my SAS Hilux to flex?

I've got a 91 hilux flat tray and the suspension needs replacing. I want it to articulate and work well, can anybody offer any advice on what sort of package works? I was thinking of a 3" lift spring, maybe extended shackles, 4" ext shocks with custom hoops. Obviously brake lines and tailshaft ext's needed too. The vehicle wont be used for towing or carrying loads, just a play toy driven to work occasionally. I am also hoping to fit 1UZFE in near future. Has any1 had this sort of suspension set up before? Does it work?

if your goin to use 3 " springs and 2" extended shackles you will need like 5" or 6" longer shocks i will be running 3" springs 1" longer shackles 5" shockes with inverted rear shock kit with the load leafs takin out of the back for about a 4" lift 33's lockers an bar work oooow an v6 commo convertion should be goob enuf for a bit of fun with out goin to extreme an its simple to set up just my 2 sence anyway

yeah nice, should be fun toy! Thanx for your help, whats with the "inverted rear shock kit"? As for my shackles, not sure how long they'll be, was going to make them to suit depending on lift achieved and angles. Have you had any experience with the longer leaves in spring packs? not sure, but sounds like a bit of a hassle. And you will be, or already have front hoops fitted? I have fair idea on how to set them up, but would like some advice from any1 that has done it...?

Extended shackles are for when you use longer springs, if you don't use longer springs your shackle angle will be almost vertical = 5hitty.

There is a post up top titled about modified hilux drivers it has some good spring combos in there and how to set them up for a nice price.\

A Good start is to invert shocks, drop a load leaf or 2 from the back packs, same from front, and whatever lift the truck has put 2inch longer shocks in the front, the rear will be fine as they are inverted.

I had around 1-2inch lift in mine before changing again, i put 4inch lift shocks in all round, it will allow good droop for the money and time spent.

berad your right about the shackle angle being the same . with the 3" lifted springs they are 50 mm longer in the back section ( if there efs brand not shaw about other brands) thats why im going to use 1 " extended shackles for a total of about 4" lift as i said before with longer shocks in my opinion there will be a better shackle angle an a better ark for the shackle to swing on ... it is also cheaper than 2 suspension an 2 shackle as the 1" extended shackles are half the price of 2" ones
