Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hi all, im in the process of buying a single cab 1990 hilux - 4inches of lift, 33's ect

its still got the petrol carby engine but i'm keen on a swap for a intercooled turbo diesel donk

- what engine(s) would you recommend? cost's im lookin at for such a swap?

i'll be using it for fishing/camping/occasional beach work and some off-road fun - nothin hardcore. but also long distance driving ie Brisbane to townsville and in between..

dont want to buy a turbo deisel lux?

id like to but for $4000 im getin a 1990 hilux single cab, petrol, 4inch lift kit, 33's on some nice alloys, alloy bar, spots, cd player, L.E.D lights all round ect.. pretty good nick too..

juz figured i would get info on a 2nd hand engine, turbo diesel and look around to find the one i want..

what engine code should i look for? i made a brief search and found 1KT-FTV? 3.0L intercooled turbo diesel....any good? im more familiar with the zooks so any info on where to look? threads about this ect would be heaps cool
