rear overhang problem

G'day all,
have all RR's have the same length of overhang in the rear? is the disco's overhang as much or is it shorter....it might be just me but my 4 door looks like it has a bigger overhang than every other RR I have seen, especially against disco's
I won't be bob tailing it, this truck is to be used for long trips so interior space is needed

Overhang is the same for series 1 Disco and a classic RR. I believe that the original Discos used the exact same frame as the classic RRs.

in my opinion it it the only thing that sucks on a rangie....with a bit of lift and bigger tyres and some creative bar work, the FRONT approach angle can be made very high....the departure angle is obviously also improved with cuting and bar work but will not get close to what can be achieved with the front.............except for bobtailing or ute

Nice...
already have 33's and 2" spring, putting 2" spacers in soon, but it still looks huge
Need to take big fat rear bar off and make a tube one.

After installing 35s on the Disco and pushing the rear axle 3/4" (2cm) back, I can attest to say that, without a rear bumper at all, I have YEt to feel that I have a massive rear overhang (with the above setup).
I'll be setting up a rear bar in June that will even increase the angle, whilst having an exit for a rear winch which will be physically placed where the rear seats used to be (actially between teh body and the chassis). Contemplating putting a hi-moint on the end of the truck was out of the question.

I too have had fat arse paranoia.... But now I am cured.
Here is my story.
Once upon a time I was winch bi*ch in a bobbed and chassis shortened Rangie. We were busy charging up a steep hill - foot up it - you know the routine
When all of a sudden the front wheels hit a bump and got some air.... Wheels in the air and no arse makes for some sphincter clenching moments as we hit that crucial point of balance - this time we came down the right way...
Moral of the story:
Having a fat arse is like having built in wheelie bars...
I am proud of my fat arse - it stays and I stay shiny side up a little longer.

I often find my self thinking about moving the entire rear axle back a foot..... but I like the 100" wheel base.
