jammed T\case

Post by Guy »

99 NL 3.5 auto.

OK so used the paj for a bit of gardening last night pulled out a small stump.. (one yank on low it was out) now the bloody thing will not come out of low range. Centre diff is locked, shifter is in between the 4h and 4hlc, but gearing wise it is definitely in low range.
The shifter moved and seems to have skipped a gate I was not trying to force it.. have not had much call to use low yet has done everything I needed it to easily in four high lock so far.

Any ideas ???

Centre console out, remove 7 bolts holding gear levers in. Lever will be jammed is my guess.

Thats kinda what I figured it would be .. was hoping for a simple fix, in my haste have managed to drop one of the what you think are studs, but turn out to be bolts into the tcase .... :bad-words: :bad-words:

Time for me to get dirty ...

Anything that can be done to prevent it happeing again in future .. definatly thinking of getting some free wheeling hubs for it perhaps a bit of bind in the driveline is not allowing the gears to be freed up to relase ...

Bind in the driveline .. fark me this thing winds up like a top.
I was on grass and a gravel driveway .. there must have been close to a quarter turn of wind up in it .. no wonder the gears would not disengage ..

So I am on the hunt for free wheeling hubs
