Looking at a pajero down the road which is for sale and it has a much better bullbar than mine. Looks like an ARB bar without stickers therefore i wouldnt know for sure. its got the room to mount a winch.

Im going to ask him if he would like to swap bullbars before he sells it. Mine is in good nick but is one of those old steel tube type bars.

I would be doing all the work (to chage them over) then was going to give him some additional cash but i dont know how much.

It also has the indicators integrated into the bullbar. How would you rectify the wiring after you snipped the indicator lights away?

How much would you give the guy?

Call me mad but sometimes i have weird ideas.

Bottle of rum and you do the work. OR $50.

If its an arb bar it cost about $700.. so really it all depends how keen you are for the bar.

Hi Andrew

For insurance, ARB told me my black steel bar was worth $585 3 years ago. Given that he still ends up with a bar on his car, and you're doing all the work, I'd open the bidding at $50/carton or two of beer, and see where he goes.

On my bullbar the indicators are spliced into the vehicle's wires using some of those dreadful "vampire" connectors. If you follow the wiring back you may be able to find the splice connectors and disconnect the lot.

Check the indicator housings for fit in the bar - mine were loose and rattling terribly because the mounting arrangement wouldn't allow the clamps to tighten right up - the screws cracked the plastic housing first. It was a simple fix (requiring small cooperation from the machinist at work) but I can't remember all the details. I ended up replacing the housings, about $35 for the pair?

Good luck,

Scott

I was thinking about 100 but 50 plus a case of beer sounds good. I just feel like a nob asking some stranger who is selling his car to swap bullbars.

Oh well, the things you do for something you want...
