Why dont you look at getting some internal beadlocks? You can fit them yourself and they lock both sides of the tyre.

Sometimes cool and `road legal' are different things..........don't get me started on insurance issues.

i know that beadlocks are illegal on the road, but how legal are those internal one's? what if you had a smash which damaged your rims and tyres and the insurance accessor spotted the internal beadlocks?

mechanic beadlocks offer the advantage of adding strength to the rim, as you can still push the Tirelocs bead and get Crap in etc,
I have Beadlocked ROH rims on my Q78 and at times, wonder if it is worthwhile, constantly checking the bolts are tight etc, although the do work well.
Inner bead isn't too important, as i have enough trouble breaking the rear bead with the tyre changer as it is!
Steve
(although i am keen to try a set of Tirelocs on the New swampers...)

Thats a valid point about strengthening the rims. What we have done to get this is mig weld a 5mm rod to the rim on the outside edge of the bead. Every rim was inspected after the Vic Winch Challenge and all were still round .

Anyone got any idea what Snake Racing's new billet beadlocks are worth?
I think Guts is running them but I'm guessing he didn't pay retail.
Are they full wheels or weld ons?

albyone, why not post it here ?
Had a chat to ray today, $150 to fit beadlocks to your rim, $120 supply only steel inner ring and alloy outer ring.
i broke a section out of my JT outer ring and ray said his can bend 90 degrees and not break.
he also fits beadlocks to alloy mags.
