Hoping someone has come up with a solution for DIY engine mounts... the genuine are getting VERY expensive! lol.

Or alternatively does anyone know of an engine mount from something else that fits... well actually I am initially chasing the under gearbox mount first

Use a piece of old seatbelt to stop them breaking. There have been plenty of threads about this issue, IF search works. I think it's in the FAQs.

Its a very common problem - mostly on the torque side ( passenger ) but drivers side also does break so check it.

Its actually caused by poor design ( surprise surprise ) unlike a Vitara for example there is no specific torque control bush fitted so the engine/ trans mounts get twisted with the obvious outcome

When I went auto and reduction gears i added an extra torque reaction bush to eliminate the problem, getting it hard enough to control the twist but soft enough to not cause vibrations was a real challenge but worthwhile in the end.

As others have indicated - covered in many previous threads - seatbelt is the bush mechanics answer - and works for a stock setup.

The transmission mount also breaks occaisionaly so its worth doing also.

Before I changed to different mounts my record was 3 Passenger side, 2 Drivers side and 1 transmission mount in a year - not good.

However there is nothing I'm aware of that simply bolts straight in to fix the problem permanently every solution requires fabrication
