Soft top conversion, legality

Hey guys
I am thinking of converting possibly a GQ or 80 series wagon to a soft top as a promotional vehicle/show car. What would be the legality of doing this and getting it engineered in QLD.
Basically want to cut it all off at the bottom of the windows, And just leave the A pillars and windscreen. Would the A pillars need to be strengthened in any way?
Thanks
Steve

Well going by all the other soft tops around you'd probably need some sort of cage.
Why not just get a Wrangler? Patrols and Cruisers would look ridiculous as soft tops.

Steve you'd be best to talk to an engineer but as far as I know there are NO (in Qld at least) regulations regarding having a roof..
Torsional strength is important but with a full chasssis'd vehicle that shouldn't be a concern.
I reckon the engineers biggest beef will be where you put the top mount for the seat belts.
