Two options, advice needed

I'm about to put a front diff back in the Lux,
I have two options, the hilux front housing with high steer, IFS hub conversion and high pinion Locker centre, I'll have to get some cr-mo CV's later. I'll also have to get new rotors and rebuild the 60 series callipers I have

The other option is an 80 series front diff. same centre, bigger CV's, Bigger brakes and the drag link is behind the diff so High steer isn't needed. I've already got new Rotors and rebuilt Callipers

Has anybody broken 80 series CV's ? how do they rate against Hilux chrome moly ones ?

What you guys think? Hilux or 80 series. I've pulled both apart today and the only interchangeable thing is the Hemisphere.
:silly:

Oh, and I run 35-37" tyres and have a healthy V8 in it

I'd go for the 80 series diff, since you are going to use the ifs hubs and are after the wider track, but hilux cromo cv's will be stronger than standard 80 cv's.

And as you have said you already have the rebuilt brakes and rotors.

Just my opinion...

As Above, go the 80 as you already have parts & high steer won't be an issue. Just get sum 80 series cv's treated. We've run treated 80s cv's in a winch challenge truck up here without breakages and at a fraction of the cost of chromo's. Just my 2c :D

80 series it will be then, eventually.....
Bought discs and caliper kits for the lux diff today, also have a swag of parts coming from Lockedup and Hobzee

and yep, the visa is maxed out...again and I only got paid today

Before I put in the 80's stuff, I'll still have to get a rear air locker and Crown wheels & Pinions

Figure I'll trash it till it brakes and go from there
