dipstick length 3.9 97 disco

Post by luv4bee'n »

Does anyone know the length of the dipy for my truck?
It may sound like a silly question.
But after 6.5 litres of oil and still not registering full i even 3/4 filled the filter , I was thinkn thats gota be too much.
The owners manual says less.
So i thought the dipy must be too short? Its 550mm from bottom of flange to the tip

My 96 Disco engine takes around 6 litres on an oil and filter change with a Z9 filter. Interestingly my Rover motors seem to always run better with around a litre less in the sump. Something I have noted over 20 years of Rangie ownership.

My RRC 3.9 takes about 6 litres with the Z89A filter.
