removal of speedo gear from sierra Tcase

Halp!

I cannot get the speedo gear unit out of the transfer case, I think the gear is a bit munted as the main cluster turns, but the gear shaft doesn't....

I removed the retaining screw, but no matter how tight I grip the sleeve, I cannot get it to budge. I have already had one case destroyed, I don't need another fucked.

I have access to bugger all equipment, but may have some gear at work that I can use...

Mate I pulled mine out a little while back and I had the same issue but I can't remember for the life of me how I managed to get it out. Double check that there isn't a nut also holding the unit into place as well. I vaguely remember that it was something stupidly obvious.

Everything has been removed that needs to be - I think the shaft might be bent or something...

Yep that did the trick.

I ended up having to use a slide hammer with a special end that griped the inside of the speedo gear unit and apply a little heat to get mine out .
