2002 patrol query

Post by nobbyjeff »

Hi everyone
I am new to this forum and I am wondering if anyone can help me out. I am currently in the process of buying a Nissan Patrol trayback 2002 model, 4.2 diseal (non turbo) has bull bar, side steps, res tank, log books up to date, 210,000ks, $21,000, I am buying from a dealer for warranty purposes, truck looks good and drives well, had a mate look over it thinks its ok, I have a had quite a few 4bs over the years (mainly landrovers) but never a patrol, just want to know if there is anything in particular to look out for on this particular year model

Regards and thanks

eh i think thats overpriced... seeing that it doesnt have a turbo i would keep looking...

but not a great deal to look out for, just make sure the motor hasnt been cooked, obviously has log books, so check servicing, and if its done offroad you their will be signs but they are tough trucks , i just dont think its worth it, you can pick up turbo models.

also does it come with leaf or coil rears

Have test driven a 2000 model turbo version, very nice, but pricey $26,000, does have all the extras and coils all round. The one I am looking at is an ex cotton farmers truck and has coils on the front, springs on the rear, very tidy truck, obviously been looked after, does the 2002 model have any particular weaknesses to look out for? I have done some research on the dealer and they do have a very good reputation for looking after customers. Thanks guys for your comments
