Hi all,
I've searched on here and had no luck but was wondering if someone can tell me how hard it is to install a 1HDT into a 94 model HZJ75 series troopy.
The car currently has a 1HZ in it and i think it has a H51 (?) box behind it.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Also if anyone can tell me what the rear diff ratio of the troopy would be that'd be great.
Cheers

if fsctory 1hz troopy would have h55 box
1hdt bolt straight in, use 1hz flywheel, will have to lengthen vacum hose and a few other little bit, change exhaust pipe, other wise straight in

weight would be about the same
gearbox????? well depends who u talk to, in my personal experience i went through 3 h55 before i put a h150 from a 80x, into it, i do heavy work with my vehicle and do not wrap it in cotton wool, last box lasted 18 000 klm after a full rebuild then shit itself
if u are just poking about with no reall load or towing then the h55 will be ok for a while, i found the bottom bearing in the box under the main shaft kept letting go and could not handle the tourqe

Already have the 1hdt I brought from a guy who had it in a HJ75 ute.
Tobie, sounds like you've done the conversion? why the reason for the flywheel change? And you wouldn't know what the rear diff ratio of the troopy would be? I also got an air locker in a 4.11 centre so was wondering if i can just centre to centre or would need a strip and re - lash

done the conversion twice
first with a 1hdt 2nd with a 1hdft
the change of flywheel cause dif size to a h55 from a factory turbo 12inch to a 11 inch from memory somebody will correct me, if not keep the 1hd flywheel ang use a 1fz clutch plate and 1hd pressure plate
the ratios will bolt straight in so no need to change re lap
any ??? let me no

I've messaged the previous owner to see what gearbox he had behind it in the 75 cause it came with a brand new tough clutch so hopefully all the clutch hoopla is sorted.
Next question i have two potential options exhaust wise a 3" system from beaudesert at about a grand (me to fit) or a 2.5" system from another supplier and i modify the dump pipe to suit the ct26 for $430.
I'm leaning toward the 2.5" system as this is the vehicle i'll use for the big lap next year and with the muddy's on its already loud enough. So whats everyone's thoughts 2.5" or 3" or bugger all difference?

3"

im running a 3" on a std 1HZ and its not that much louder but hell of a difference in power.
