Elect fault in Parking light circuit?????? GQ LWB

Are there any common areas that cause a fault in the wiring loom for the parking lights in a GQ LWB?
I have removed all lamp fittings from connectors, removed the dash and control console for heaters etc and disconnected all items. I still get 0 ohms to earth (Dead short) when I turn on the light switch.
Seems the fault is in the wiring loom, so if anyone knows of a common area that fails I would appreciate a heads up as it may save me pulling the entire car apart.
Additionally, what route does the wiring loom take from the front of the vehicle to the rear? eg under carpet on right handside?
Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Trailer connection plug? Seen it happen here before.
What about the switch itself?
From memory the wiring to the rear is on top of the right hand chassis rail...... there are some connectors just behind the right rear wheel that can cop some abuse from stuff thrown up......

I've tried the trailer plug.
I will have alook at the connectors under the right rear as I have recently had a lift put in so it may have been knocked, gouged etc.
Then it'll be time to try the switch. I realy don't fancy pulling the bl**dy steering wheel off as it's always a PIA job.

I had a similar problem with my GQ but it was the indicators that were playing up.
A switched on auto elec told me it would be either the left or right front ones which are the culprit and he then went and proved it by banging on the lens assembly on the front RHS and voila they worked.
The wiring to the light assembly is very thin with poor insulation and it can get crimped beween the bodywork which was exactly my problem.

Andrew you hit the nail on the head, front left parker which I discovered at 10.00 oclock last night. My main problem was the fault was constant so fuse blew immediately.
Apparently another common fault is the switch on the steering column.
For future information the wiring loom from the front to the rear was on the left hand chassis rail on my RB30 and enters the cabin via a penetration under the passenger seat. There is a connector under the passenger seat which can be disconnected to identify if the fault is at the front or rear of the vehicle and narrow down the fault finding process.
I also found the rear connector near the left wheel arch and have cleaned and wrapped it in suitable material to forestall the ingress of mud and water.
All in all a wonderfull learning process and Haynes manuals suck.

So I thought....I need a Gregorys Manual instead and knowing that Google is my friend, I did a search for Gregorys manuals and got the link,
www.gregorys-online.com.au . Sweet... order on-line and no worries. So I click on the link for Gregorys Auto manuals and 'Hey presto', I go straight to
www.haynes.com.au
Seems there is something I might be missing here..... like customer service or maybe the right to choose, or is it I am just another mug to be fleeced for a couple of bob. Admittedly the Haynes site sells both Gregorys and Haynes manuals but this then begs the question, are they both the same, will they end being the same content or should I just pay the fortune that Nissan require for the real thing? Hey..that reminds me of another Multi-national trying to corner the market. Damn I might just curl up in the corner, ring the mechanic and become another mindless blob totally incapable of looking after itself.

I must change my signature to "Ignorance is bliss!".
