Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Gday guys,

Ive posted this up in the nissan section recently,

I own a GQ TD42 SWB with no power windows.

Ive bought a kit which is incomplete and the seller will no longer answer my pms and wont have anything to do with it...

basically ive got the regulators, switches, trims, power amplifier etc, but no wiring at all, i also dont have the factory plugs under the dash to plug any wiring in i dont believe...

so.... I want to have a go and wiring the whole lot up myself, otherwise ive been completely ripped off...

anyone done this before? got any tips? diagrams? anyone that can offer me any help? also anyone in sydney that would do it as a cashie for me

Should be a piece of piss. There are a few ways of doing it but I would probably look at mounting the regulators, motors, and trims.

Then all you need is two power window switches, which are relatively generic, you can just get something like: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3-5-WIRE ... dZViewItem

... or pinch some from a wreck.

afaik, basically on these switches you have five wires, one for illumination, one for +ve, one for -ve, and two for the window motor. They just send the power to the window motor one way for up, and the opposite way for down.

But, for kicks, I would seriously consider adding something like this:

which gets you one-touch operation. ie, just tap the button once and the window goes fully up or fully down, or hold the button instead and you can control where it stops. Useful for maccas drive-through or car parks

But anyway for now if you can get the motors, regulators, etc, into the doors and the two wires from each motor from the doors into the cabin, then you are off to a good start and the rest of the wiring can be done fromt here. Assuming the window switches are in the centre console not the doors. If the switches are in the doors then you need to run +ve and -ve into each door instead and do your wiring in the doors.

You also want a self-resetting circuit breaker on each side.
