rangerover dash swap?

Maybe restoring a rangerover and just thinking..

Can a P38 R/R dash be fitted into a R/R classic (with some mods I guess) or for that matter how about other Landrover's (disco). I would think a soft dash would be best but its getting hold of one. Did the Australian R/R even get the soft dash. I know in the UK it was about 1994 until the classic was eased out altogether. The P38 & soft dash models ran (and sold) side by side for a while.

Anyway if anyone as any thought or knows anything it would be appreciated.

The very last RRC's over here would have had the soft dash, as you said it was late 94 back in the UK, so probably the same over here. I have a early 94 and that is the hard dash.

With regards to the P38 dash, anything is possible but I am not sure why you would want too.......... I wouldnt even consider it.

the D1 dash is near enough a straight swap, as would be a soft dash RRC one and wont have all the P38 dash dramas (Blend Motors, heater matrix, air con displays are a few I can think of after a few beers!)

currntly in the process of doing the same thing. the way im doing it is cutting out the firewall and floor pan and dropping in a late model disco dash. this way all the mounts, gromets, wiring and complete dash will bolt in with relative ease rather than mucking around trying to put new mounts on the old firewall and trying to have everything fit and line up. this way only a few accurate cuts with an angle grinder and a decent weld job is all i need to really worry about. hope that helps
