hey guys, i;m about to get a new front ratio for my gq diff. i'm wondering what peoples opinions are on the cheap ebay gears. all i can find after searching is that they are harder to set up and that the company makes the gears for a lot of european truck and car manufacturers. Also a lot of guys seem to run italian 4.88s with out any probs. so you kniow my application its a hi pinon front running backwards in the rear. i run 35s and 37s and am in the process of slappin on a turbo to my rb30. cheers in advance ray

Hi Mate, I'm by no means an expert on this however i was looking into these a few months ago before the 3L Blew up on me. I was told if it's cheap then it's probably not the best. They might state all these amazing facts about the quality of the gears but from what i've heard and read you can't beat the Genuine factory gears from nissan. Terain Tammer also comes to mind as an aftermarket gear option.
Your right about the hard to set up part as well cause that is exactly what i have heard. Just can't get an even mesh on them no matter how hard you try. Guess it comes down to in my mind, pay less now for somthing that wears out, or pay more for the set and forget option.
Regards
Hebble.

I have the Italian Gears in mine, only ones that do 4.8.
I have'nt had a problem, and i know they have been abused quite well

well i decidied guinea pig a set any way. im running a mq rear on the back side of the teeth in the front and i'll try one of these front gears in the back, reverse side of teeth as well. i spoke to the guy that sells them and he had no idea how they would hold up. i'll post up after i thrash them a bit and give them some abuse.

well they turned up today
they seem to be well made on sight. no blemishes or any thing. i'll bolt it in to my hp rear this weekend and we'll all see how good they are.

yeah these are made by antonio maserio. just thought i'd give em a go. and if anyone will brake them i should. 37" creepies, reverse cut running hp rear and a super charger waiting to be bolted in. just an experiment to see how they go. the guy selling them hadn't ever heard of running front gears in the rear so it's really a suck it and see experiment.
