Cruiser mod questions

I'm in the process of coiling my 73 series and have a couple of random questions.
1. How far can you move the front diff forward before you run into problems with tyres hitting the front cab mount (no bigger than a 37").
2. I've been told that angling top mounts of shocks inboard on car can make it more rolly. Is there any downside to angling the tops of them forward? Or is it better to have them as perpendicular to ground as possible?
