Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hello mates a friend of our club wants to lift up her ROZA about 4cm and fitting a winch (about 25 kilos fitted on the car). What shock absorbers should we use Dobidson Rancho Ironam Tough Dog Pro-Comp etc? We want the suspension to be hard enough to handle the weight when running in up and down hills. Also should we use different torsion bars ? Thanks for your ideas.

You'd need to uprate your torsion bars as well IMHO.

Shocks don't carry the vehicles weight, they simply contro the characteristics of the springs.

So either different bars ( if you can get them anymore.... ) or more preload on the existing ones.

As per shocks - Bilstein, and there are heavy duty options for control of the extra mass.

That's our problem we need someone who has fitted shocks and torsion bars that handles his winch when he is off-roading . We believe that tough-dog shocks and torsion bars will be ok. We will ask first for blistein thanks.

Well - i've done all of the above and IMO I would preload the existing bars to carry the weight and fit HD Bilsteins.

Making the front spring rate higher isn't great for a Feroza - makes it even choppier off road, ive softened mine ( but that's a VERY long story )and within the limitations of the IFS its walks over things very well.

Ive had tough dogs and wasn't disatisfied with them but you can't compare them with Bilsteins IMO - however they are cheaper.

Do the shocks/preload first - then buy the bars IF you really need them.........

P.S. the HD Bilsteins aren't actually a Feroza shock..... but are identical and around 20% heavier in the damping.
