strengthening troopy diff's

i want to strengthen my 92 mdl troopy diffs to as strong as GQ,s ,if possible. does anyone have any ideas how to go about it

if it's the high pinion 8 inch centre (like the 80) then drilling out the carrier bolts to take the next stud size up, fitting an ARB or Detroit locker (one with a full carrier replacement) and there might be more tricks... i don't have one myself, then throw some 30 spline longfields in with the chromo hub gears... should do the trick

Go get a complete 70 series leaf diff from a 85-90 model. Upgrades from 8'' high pinion to a 9.5'' low pinion centre which is the same as the rear, nice and strong. Then fit 40 series 30 spline lonfields and hub gears. Tough as nails.

If you go the way bad_religion suggested, with the high pinion 8" diff, then replacing the crush sleeve (for pinion bearing preload) with solid spacer sleeve will also help.
