I was always under the impression that they where the same. Only real difference is the GU axle is 70mm wider.

i thought the same to but the axle definatly is spinning in the centre

the gu centre is out of a gu 3 i think. it was about an 06/07 model i think

you may have a rear 33 spline locker and putting in the front where there are 31 spline axles, front and back lockers are the same except the side gears.

interesting this comes up now
on the weekend mate done a hub on gq that has gu diffs i hade a spare gq hub and it did not fit the spline was the same count but the shaft hade a bigger diameter so the hub from my gq did not fit the gu cv
i would imagin your axles are to small for the front centre

ok seems i found the problem

the spline on the cv shaft is slipping it sheered most of the teeth off it lol
i thought the cv would of broke before that happened

10 to 1 its bust the C/V , they crack the spider and the slip on the shaft.
