I ended up mounting the mic on the front of the ashtray. Was gonna put it in the circled area but it's better on the ashtray.
EDIT: Why doesn't yours fit? It is a DIN mount yeah?

I had it in a Department of Interior dash pod but replaced it for a gps dvd radio combo which is depicted in the picture. The single DIN UHF is now in the dash below the heater controls where the original radio resided. It is still accessible but I prefer the ease of access to the gps radio etc in the pod.

Thsi is mine same model as yours, just have to take the black thing out and screw the uhf in using the same holes. You will know what I am talking about when you get it apart.-

mine lives on the dash, I was going to move it to below the stereo, however, it has a GPS function, that lets me see the speed, and also warns me when speed cameras etc etc, are coming up.
looks like this

All of the Lowlux ones i've seen and installed have been under the stereo or in an overhead console. If you want your UHF to have prime position, you can always put the stereo in the lower DIN slot, and the UHF in the upper DIN slot.
