Hi all,
Just building a motor for the Vitara.
In lieu of having a manual handy, does anyone have the following torque settings that they can help me with?
Main bearing carriers
Big ends (conrod)
Head bolts
oil pump bolts
flywheel bolts (besides f^#ken tight!)
Any assistance is appreciated...
Cheers,
Adam

Hi again people...
This is, I guess, just another question for anyone with a manual handy... (Viagra?)
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the standard compression ratio of a G16A motor?
...and what it would be likely to raise to by using the G13BA head I have bought.
My main concern is that whilst it would be great to have a 10:1 compression ratio, I don't want it to necessitate my having to use Premium Unleaded forever, particularly now that the price is coming up a bit.
I should get a fair idea by what the standard ratio is. I'm hoping it will be about 9.5, but I doubt it would be that low, being a Suzuki (rather than a Datsun 1200).
Thanks in anticipation...
Adam

The standard for EFI i believe is about 9.3-9.5 for aussie models and 8.8-9.0 for carby models - my manual is too crap to say.
Here's a link to an indonesian site with specs.

Could work it out from the sierra specs...work out combustion chamber size based on CR from the sierra and then work out the proportional difference in cylinder volume.
mind you' it's be as much based on guesswork since the pistons may not come to the same height compared to the deck, may have different cutaways etc.

Guy (love_mud) had a 1300 head on his sierra with a 1600 vitara bottom end. might be worth asking him.

Gees, based on even an approximate original value of 9.0 for the carby (G16A), which is what I have, I have FAR from anything to worry about...
Thanks for your help, yet again...
(Now hurry up & get those springs down to me!!....lol)
Cheers,
Adam
