the hilux ive bought has a few problems that need fixing up and was hoping you guys could steer me in the right direction..
It has 33 x 12.5 maxxis bighorns on it that clear fine but when i turn full lock right the inside of the tyre rubs on the leafs??
The front diff leaks out of the rear main seal and was wondering roughly what thats worth to replace.
The brakes arent to good so i bled them the other day but that was fine..im assuming i may need new pads, shoes etc.
And the handbrake doesnt work at all so i think im up for a new handbrake cable
ALSO forgot to mention sorry, when i go for a drive just around town in 2WD my front hubs get very hot, is this normal? the previous owner reckons he replaced wheel bearings?
regards
matt

Hey mate with the tyre's you might need to set up the steering stops a bit better just wind em out till the tyre just clears theyre bolts on the front and back of your hubs.
and your brake issues sound like the rear shoes aren't adjusted up before you touch your handbreak check the shoes.

Thanks 4RUNNER_01, may seem like a stupid question but to adjust the steering stops do i have the tyres in full lock right so its nealy touching the springs then wind the stops out to suit?
cheers

wind the steering stops out then go full lock.
Trial and error, or turn the wheel full lock then adjust the steering adjuster nut.
Yes they may be new bearings in the front but the guy before might had done the bearing nut up too tight which will make the seize and then your trucks going no where.
The front diff needs a new pinion seal?? that is if the oil is leaking from near where the tailshaft connects to the diff centre.
The handbrake cable might just need adjusting, i have to adjust mine after 4wding all the time especially in mud.
Take of the drum and have a look, no point buying al new brake pads and shoes if they are not needed. If there is brake fluid leaking in the drum then you need a new slave cylinder.
Last time i looked a pinion seal kit was like $35 from ebay and was free postage. Plus add $20 for diff oil and thats problem solved.
$12 for some aerosol brake cleaner and adjust the rear drums and thats done.
The handbrake cable may be stretched so it has to also be adjusted where the lever is halfway down the chassis.
Cheers
