Transfercase options for new build

G'day,
Trying to work out what's the best combination for drivability & cost wise.
See spread sheet of my options and the resulting ratios
(calculations are for final drive without taking into consideration tyre size)
Vehicle is a 1971 Mitsubishi Jeep
350 Chev with a turbo 350 fully manualised auto.
Will be running 35" tyres, maybe 37's
Currently leaf sprung but will go to coils within 12 months.
Will be running landcruiser diffs preferably with stock 4.1 ratios so most calculations are with this diff ratio.
(Surf ratios are included as this is my current car so I am familiar with the gearing on this, running a V8, manual, twin hilux transfers and 35's)
Usage:
Used for Weekend hard trips, sand dunes & also High country trips (so good engine braking required for very steep long downhill sections)
And a view to later on do Outback Challenge/Cliffhanger style events.
Options:
Upgrade the DANA 300 transfer (dont particularly like this idea as hard to get parts in Aust if things go wrong)
Swap in a Hilux Reduction gear transfer (currently my prefered option as cheapest and can convert to twin transfer cheaply if need lower gearing)
What are peoples thoughts on ratios, what do people think is too low or not low enough?
Is 48:1 final drive low enough with an auto? especially for downhill??
Thoughts?
Thanks
Leeham
