Pajero 93 NH rear diff compressor not working

Hi, Does anyone know how to get to the rear diff lock compressor and how to test if it works.
So far I can confirm that the rear diff switch is OK and the wires at the switch are live but the compressor does not work (fuse OK too).
I need to get to the compressor and test it but the manual is useless.
Also I am told that they don't sell the compressor anymore, does anyone know what a replacement brand, model and cost may be?
Thanks
Glen

Hi Glen
Location of the locker pump is dependant on whether your vehicle is LWB or SWB. With the LWB the pump is under the right hand side rear passenger seat in behind the small door. With a SWB the pump is mounted behind the left hand side paneling, below the side window. To access this you need to remove the rear seats, seat belts, ashtray, and a few other attachments along the side of the vehicle. With those removed the side panel comes off and you can access the pump and ECU.
Remove and connect 12 volts to the pump connector to test.
To replace is difficult as the pump is quite low pressure (abt 7 psi) as compared to the ARB lockers, so you would need a pressure reducer to work with any standard compressor, to deliver a steady low pressure feed.
Thanks, SWB

Thanks Kiwijero, Do you know how many wires are on the terminals and which one that I should be connecting the 12v to?

The terminal is only 2 wires.
PM me with your email and I can send you a pdf of the the Mitsi Differential Locker Rear manual. This will also give you a wiring diagram along with fault diagnosis.

If the pump is crook after testing it, I think I have a spare here, will cost a wee bit with postage, although they are pretty small.
