Help for newbie on tyres - bull bar- courses

Just bought a mitz challenger (haven't picked it up yet) but it needs tyres.

The car will mainly be driven on road, however we will from time to time go off road around Oberon and possibly do longer trips with the wife (Fraser Island- Red Centre etc) now the kids are getting older.

Never done any 4 WD except as a passenger so would like some help with

1. getting suitable tyres. I'm thinking a reasonably priced All terrain type?? What brands?
Should I go to the local Beaurepaires or is better from a choice/price point of view to go to a 4wd specialist? If so where in Sydney please?

2. Bull Bar- should i bother or just get a nudge bar? What brands should I look at? Where in Sydney Do I buy?

3. As I'm green, is there a suitable 4WD course I could do to increase my knowledge (presently zero :? ) in Sydney area?

Thanks
Greg

best advice from me is
tyres- get a good allterrain tyre- bfg, cooper st, there are heaps of different brands with heaps of different tread patterns
bullbar- if youre planning on going outback, you will be better off with a full bullbar as roos and other animals will right off your front end if you have no front end protection
driver training- join a 4wd club, there is heaps of them around and most have some sort of driver training courses that they run fairly often
use the search function on here(located at top of page) to help you find info on pretty much anything, otherwise post up questions and most people on here will help if they can
good luck
