Hey guys, was just thinking of putting some 32s on my 92 hilux but i just dont know if the ratios would be ok to turn the bigger tyres (tyres at the moment are 30s). As you all know it is a 2.8 lt diesel. only mods are pacemaker extractors and straight through exhaust. As i said if i put 32s on it, would i have to change the gear ratio or diff ratios or would the stock ratios do fine??

Cheers mate. yea mine is solid axle. Some of the blokes said it wont scrub, or it will but wont be much. So i am not sure yet. Atleast i know i dont have to change the ratios if i get 32s. Not sure if i will get 32s. I wanted a wider tyre and saw that pro comp make a 31*12.5*15. So i may get that, not sure yet. But thanks alot for the help.

When I had my 32"s I ran stock ratios and it wasn't too bad, was slow, but it is a hilux.

Dont be put off, its just we get alot of common questions asked that could be easily answered easier by a little search.... Use the search function above on outers or google....

But basically lux centres are relatively cheap (if you buy them in the right place) so easier to just buy a whole new centre and change the complete centre over....

Search this as there is heaps of info.....

To give you an idea, a 2nd hand centre should cost $150-300 and a gear set change could cost between 400-600 depending on who you get to do it, what gears you put into it and weather its a full rebuild or just gear change...

Dont recommend you change the gears yourself unless you know what you are doing....
