4 Runner RV6 Petrol - Can i change motor to diesel?

Would it be worth changing the engine in my baby to a diesel? i much prefer the turbo diesel. im thinking bout a 2.8 but would it be worth doing? is it going to cost too much??

Would be cheaper to put a V8 in there.
