hey guys
i have sorted out a new front diff for my hj, but on the passenger side as i turn the hub from side to side, as if i was turing the wheel, it gets stuck in the middle and requires quite a bit of effort to move but once its past the middle it moves pretty freely, is this mormal or should i be pulling this thing apart.

the kingpin bearings don't wear evenly, and tend to 'stick' where the wheels are pointed straight ahead. If you can turn it easily enough by hand and can't feel it through the steering wheel I wouldn't be TOO bothered...Not crunchy is it?

yeah your describing it exactly, its smooth otherwise just has the 'sticky' spot although it is pretty 'sticky' and takes a bit of effort to move out of it. i have not had the diff in the car so i dont know how much it affects the steering.

Mine drives/steers much better after have the kingpin bearings replaced.
Seems to be much less wandering around/tramlining, more direct and smooth when driving in a straight line.
