Well its about that time wen iv put about 10 kilos of stop leak in my 4runners radiator but its swiss cheese like appearance just wont tolerate it anymore.
Im going to replace it in the very near future but im not sure if i should just buy a replacement stocko one or upgrade it.
This brings on my next question. What types of upgrades are there? Cause im not realy sure what im looking for.
I want something that will keep my engine realy cold cause it loves overheating in deep sand.
So let us know ur opinion?

Edit: would a nice big intercooler do much. (for temperature. i dont have a turbo or supercharger)

cheers, Tim

What motor is it?
what history do you know about it?
What have you replaced in the cooling system?

I have never seen a NA motor fitted with an intercooler?

You might have a mess in there with all that stop leak :?

cough up $$$ for a new radiator, give the system multiple flushes

and you might be lucky :D

the standard rad should be fine! ( apart from known issues with any particular engine )

cheers

get a new radiator ASAP before you send your good motor
to an early grave

Yep stock motor should equal stock radiator in a 4 Runner. Their cooling systems should more than adequate for our conditions, unlike a Surf.

As mentioned above, I would flush the system many times to get the stop leak out. That sh1t is only going to give you dramas!

Stick a hose in the hose and flush all the crap out.

a few reverse flushes, IE: reverse the directioin of the flow normally, im not sure which way normally goes in the runner etc.

Most afterwards run it up with plain distilled water and then dump it to take any of the tap water out of the system and then refill with the correct coolant/distilled.

BTW toyota coolant is exxy but many say it is the best etc.
