front suspention

just looking for any sugestions on how to get the front end of a GQ to work without going 5 link

Drop brackets. lose a bit of ramp over clearance, but restores stock flexibility, depending on springs.

The extended length of my front shocks is costing me about 80mm in wheel droop. So longer shocks is a good place to start if you havent already done so

have already rone the shock thing but just want a bit more it seems to bind up before the shock is fully extended

so does mine, i'm still not happy with the front flex. I put in the softest coils from dobinson and it helped a bit.

If I was to buy springs again i would get OME they have one a bit softer again.

May be a silly question but have you taken the front swaybar out?

yes taken the sway bar off have had custom made coils but still not happy . have herd about Jonny joint on the control does anyone know anything about this? ????

there is a bloke in qld making cavitated bushes for the axle mount, search through the rover section on here and you should find the story on them. i think the nissan ones are nearly ready for production.. the theory sounds good to me, but the pin still might bind up on the chassis end prematurely, depending on the height of your coils..

No this does not work. This will have the effect of locking up your front end cos the 3-link needs the squish in the rad arm bushes to work otherwise you will effectively try to twist your front axle as your suspension flexes.

For height try 80 series front coils and shocks, ome work well.
If you have caster adjusting bush's they reduce your artic as they have less movement in them.The factory rubber bush's seem the best.
How are you testing your travel?.One way to free up the front would be to remove one bolt from one only control arm as this will reduce bind.
With your present setup your diff is acting as a big anti-sway bar.
