gday. just got a pyro from the group buy and am looking at putting it in just now. just like to triple check that the 'grub' screw in the manifold just above turbo in pic is where i should put the probe.

it is very tight so i have hit it with some inox and will check before i continue removing it anymore.

cheers

yeh from wat ive read and heard pre turbo is more accurate as u arent guessing how much heat is lost through the turbo when working out how hot is safe... and it seems there is a threaded hole with grub screw there already in mine. gunna pull it out and see wat thread it is.

it would be alot easier to just use the predrilled hole on the dump pipe, but I've heard ppl say its better to go before the turbo. I would have thought it would be ok to play it safe when fitting it to the dump and have the alarm set lower then you would if it was pre turbo.

if you have one on the dump pipe that is.

i would try to get that one out - pre turbo is more accurate. and its already there!

pre turbo is heaps more accurate. Did you get one of the group buy pyro's. I got one last round and i mounted the probe in that hole in the manifold. Good luck getting the grub screw out. I had to pull the turbo off and drill it out. I soaked it in wd40 and heated it up with the oxy but it would not come out. Good fun.

yeh mate i couldnt get it out soaked and tried everything. looks like i will be putting it in the dump pipe. I really wanted to put it in pre turbo as said it far more accurate but mechanic told me they sometimes 'crystalise' and deteriorate and can go through turbo... sounds like a slim chance but rather not have it happen to me. So will just run lower safe temp at the dump pipe i guess.

yeh got the one from last group buy. seems good product.
