Dual Battery System

Im looking into setting up a dual battery system in my 100series. All i want the second battery for is to run the car stereo, a few lights & probably a fridge in the future when i get around to buying one. Just wondering what people have found to work best for them or just some info as to what i should be looking for....or if you have a system set up for this what you have done. any help would be fantastic

That's an amazing idea, think of the possiblities...
You're obviously the first person to have considered such a setup, and you want some advice on setting up this innovative system otherwise you would have
SEARCHED and found one of the Boggedteen topics about this already.
Probably have more luck looking in the Auto electrical section too.

My personal recommendation is the traxide units. Very simple install and reasonable prices.

I've set up a system with an SC80 and a 100a/h gel battery in the back of the wagon. It powers the fridge when fitted, stereo amp's, accessory sockets (on all the time not just with ignition) and when I get to it a reverse/work light.
edit* I could have gotten away with the SC40 but I had thoughts of running a tri-battery setup with a third battery in the engine bay (SC80 would trigger a solenoid) for winching duties. I doubt that will happen any time soon though.

redarc smart solenoids are good reliable and cheap, if you already have 2 cranking batteries fit a heavy duty crank battery, fit a deep cyle on the other side and fit a isolater in the middle, ive done heaps of the new 200 series this way
