I've just got a GU airbox to put in my GQ turbo diesel.
I've tried using the search function to find some photo's of some other peoples piping installs for this similar mod but failed to com up with much.
Was just wondering if anyone could help point me in the right direction.......other than back to the search function.
cheers josh

it will fit into the factory holes and line up with the factory snorkle point. it should just bolt in but i had to bend some aircon lines with mine, some say they have to move their second battery bracket back but i didn't so this i don't think is a big prob
hope this helps and i will see if i can take some pics tomorrow

Yeah thatnks 92mav heard they were pretty straight forward to bolt in. I'm just curious about how people went about making up a flange to bolt up to where the airflow meter was. but yeah photos would be tops!

did you just slip a slightly smaller tube into the snorkel side to fit it up to the snorkel ducting?
That looks fairly straight forward AJ

Yeah I just cut the flange off and slid (well, hammered......) a piece of 3" exhaust pipe in.
I had the stainless clamp around it whilst I hammered it in to prevent cracking of the plastic.
Been working for around 8 months now. No issues.
Then to finish it off I put some sicaflex around it and painted it inside and out.

that seems straight forward enough, good idea about the clamp and it does seem easier than welding up an adapt plate for the airflow flange. Will a piece of 3 inch pipe fit in the half of the box to fit up the snorkel to?
Trial fitted the complete assembly tonight, fits really quite well like it was ment to be. Just needed to tweak the dual battery tray bracket so it wouldn't rub.

No, it doesn't fit that straight forward as I remember now.
I did cut "slots" into the 3" pipe and that way I could bend it in a little to decrease the diameter a bit.
I hope you know what I mean but if you could get a, say, 2.75" pipe that should go in quite well.
This was the easiest solution I could come up with anyway.

ok cool yeah i think i get what your saying.
I'll have a bit of a play with it tommorow to see what i can come up with. In the mean time anyone got any links to some photos of people that have done this kind of thing before?

Alright so air box is bolted in nice and tight now. "Adjusted" the battery tray slightly to suit, it was only just touching the airbox so figured it wasn't work stuffing round with the tray when a precise blow did the job.
Just gotta get some piping now and down to the turbo!

Hey Josh n Kat...How'd you go with your airbox fitment...any update pics??
What size pipe or joiner did you end up using on airbox snorkel inlet and the outlet?
Cheers.
