Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I have a 87 F 150, front wheel hub keeps engaging. I cannot find any information at all from ford as this particular model was the only one that had this hub.
I have a replacement which has the same problem. Could it possibly be anything to do with the spring.

any help would be appreciated.
