The 6.2 has less power than a standard td42
The 6.2 is never going to be reliable
The TD42 with a turbo can be very powerful
The TD42 is usually very reliable
Its your choice mate

looks like i'll be going a turbo then lol. next thing i'm wondering would a td42 with 270,000 k's on it still handle a turbo pretty well or would you sugest doing a little bit of work first?

Turbo, 3" zorst, intercooler, turn the boost and fuel up - should get the job done

go get the car checked out, compression wise, if all turns out sweet, turbo, 10psi and add some fuel and you will be sweet,
just get it tuned buy some one that knows what they are doing, also fit an egt and boost guage just to keep an eye on things,

your best bet is to try and drive a patrol fitted with each kit.
what suits one guy may not suit you.
