Should be fine in a heavy vehicle like an Explorer especially if its an auto. Would recomend doing a search though as this topic has been done to death. I have one in the front of my HiLux and love it and a mate has one in the rear of his HiLux with no complaints. You just have to change your driving style to suit which isnt saying they are crap, just different.

They're not great in shopping centre car parks where tight slow turns are required, or on roundabouts in traffic etc. Expect faster tyre wear as well.

On road at speeds about 30-40 kms and above, the corners are sufficiently wide to mean driving with a locked diff isn't really noticeable.

A lot of people don't realise that autolockers lock your diff straightaway and only unlock when required.

But offroad you will love it, on road the wife will hate it.
