Extending steering stops to eliminate scrubbing

Hey guys,
I just got some 31x10.5 wranglers on ROH 15x8 rims (second hand, so unkown offset) for my sierra. Some guard bashing and bumpstop extension has eliminated scrubbing in the wheel well, but my tires hit the rear of the front springs springs quite badly when approaching full lock. Im running 2" lifted ome's which have the little clip holding the leaves together, and the tires hit this clip.

So untill i can afford some greater offset rims, i have heard you can extend your steering stops? I've searched for some info on this but have no idea how to do it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i'm not keen on ripping up my brand new tires

You may find that it is just the bolt on the clip they hit and generally its more prevalant on the drivers side, if so you can remove it with no ill effects.

Oh really, that's great news then. So that clip isn't crucial to holding the leaf pack together or anything? Can i remove the whole clip or just the bolt?

if its still a prob, you could try putting a longer bolt with another nut as a spacer on the centre rear knuckle seal things.

Make sure you use a something as a spacer & do it up tight, otherwise you might bend this bolt.
(and yes ive since done the wiper/seals).

Just went and removed the bolts and now theres no scrubbing  It's amazing how much extra turning circle can be gained by only a few mm of clearance.
Thanks alot for the info

Thats good to hear, i wouldnt go removing the clip as the leafs have a habit of spreading all over the place sometimes. It should help it flex a bit more too
