computer under front seat

hi i have a 1994 td42t safari 24volt swb jap import,im in a 4x4 club but no one else ive asked so far has one,its a computer under the passengers front seat and sits in a factory cradel does anybody know what its for or what it controls

Can you see any ID tags on it? Might be a BCM or something....

ive got it all taped up in a plastic bag been like that for about 3years but want to move it up higher soon like ive done to most of the other ones,going away ror 3/4 days soon will take a look next week when back.thanks mike.

is it an auto??

if so , i know the skylines run the Auto computer under the passenger seat.

yes it is auto ,ive already moved the auto computer into the glove box along with the other ones on the floor this one is different ,its attached to the seat via a cradel

it is the factory 24V-12V converter, some of the safaris with a "sort of" emmissions system mounted the 24V-12V converter under the seat because they put the emmissions ecu behind the passenger side kick board instead. hope this makes sense?

converter ok thanks for that hath ill try and move it up out off the way,for river crossings,cheers mike.

Yep...Nissan tended to put the converters in strange places and under the passenger seat is one of them.
