if you want to use straight gas set it up that way and tune it to suit....
get rid of the carb and use a throttle body prob get the head done if it hasnt had one done recently valve seats etc.

Been considering doing this to mine to get rid of the fuel supply shit on the angles. Hiluxmad when it was on straight gas did it go just as good or better then it before and did you have any heating up issue's

From my experience any engine that was made to run unleaded will run gas with no problems but with leaded engines it is best to have a bit of wear on the motor so the valves are pretty loose in the guides, by the time valve recession comes into play your heads are probably ready for a freshen up anyway.. People who reco leaded engines and dont have the head done for unleaded sometimes experience sticky valves. I had my old clevo heads done for unleaded when I rebuilt the motor and put a gas specific cam in it with a custom graphed dizzy for gas and it was awesome. it actually out performed the old petrol configuration.

never made much of a heat difference but i had a heavy duty rad to begin with.
gas is 106 octane (approx) highest pump fuel = 98 octane set up right it is a pearler.
NB i hate dual fuel pick 1 and stick with it...........lol

Do you need to run any lube to the top of the motor I no that's done on a some of cars that run duel fuel. My 3F had a full rebuilt about 4 years ago now and i was told its now built to run unleaded or LPG so should I need to do anything like that? Do you find it just as reliable and will it start easy on gas I no our work forklifts running gas sometime freeze up.

the main reason the converters freeze is low water or air pockets in the cooling system.
a properly set up straight gas system can produce more power than the equivlent petrol system and be just as easy to start etc...

mine had a 300a mixer and i think it was a b2 converter mine was a home brew kit though.
if you are going straight gas with a throttle body( XF falcon ones work well ) use a mixer from a fuel injected v8 commodore or falcon and matching mixer can be had cheapish on flea bay you can always tune them down........

if the converter freezes, you have air pockets in your cooling system. or in 0.00001% of cases, not running anti-freeze (i don't, and i have never had the problem).
mounting the converter lower than the top of the radiator helps, as does making sure the inlet and outlet hoses are round the right way.
if it's rebuilt for ULP, then it shouldn't need upper valve lube. and a good bet that something else will fail anyway long before the valves die due to gas.
as for the system, all depends on price. an impco 200/225 and a L series converter, or B2 converter should do it. you could step up to 425's etc, or try gas research, but impco is probably best bang for buck.

then go a lpg specific plug (i think they are hotter?), gap them to spec, and enjoy.
