Desert Cooler radiators

Anyone running one of theses radiators in their patrol, esp. SD33T? As you know the weather is heating up and i intend to tow a vehicle from melbourne to central QLD at x-mas so im up grading my rad.


Any comments greatly appreciated

Havnt got one man, but from previous posts some have mentioned that there not a good fit. You can try these guys http://www.alloyradiators.com.au/ but have heard they are hard to contact. Cheers Loz.

got one in my tb45 gu patrol bolt in no probs and keeps it cool

have teed it up with JAR in sydney to make one for me but not till the new year. was planning to get mount tabs for Ford thermos, hole for thermo switch, and 4 core. Thinking of adding and extra 2 inch to the top tank as i have a 2inch body lift and fuel tanks are already modded.

Was going to give them a fact rad for them to get exact fitment,etc.

Id tow at night,etc to avoid car traffic,etc. only a few rouge trucks to worry about butt hey can be talked to on the UHF to help get them on their way

thanks for the replies guys. Might go with the desert coolers as they are nearly half the price of PWR and race raditors, JAR cant do one for me before x-mas. Will keep you posted how it fits and goes.

By all reports in many threads there is a reason they are cheap...

my been great for 3 year now but had to change the lower hose outlet to make it fit
sit 1/2 way all the time even on a 38c day with the ac on
it has a ac condecer and a 78mm intercooler in front of it as well a a 8000 HM and driving lights

picked up a alloy core plastic tank radiator for a projet that i am doing. it was from a radiator shop that we use at work and they said to why do you want an alloy radiator core for you know you cant clean them they told me. i didnt ask why you cant clean them. i just needed the alloy core that size to put some alloy tanks on. so does anyone no why they would say you cant clean an alloy core?

the only way to go put one in every truck i have owned been driving around in the hottest parts of oz with a/c on full bore and 30 psi of boost up it never got past 1/2 on gauge i work in mining and with long haules out of pits in summer the truck never getts hot
