Hey Guys,
I need to replace to windscreen in my 95 zook. I can get the glass cheap but install is a killer. Just a few questions -
How hard is it to install myself?
How is it done?
What tools are needed?
Any help is appreciated.

done this on my last sierra - piss easy!!!
a screwdriver and maybe some CRC spray to make it easier..
- i put the rubber seal on the windscreen first, sat it on the outside of the windscreen frame and gently pushed the rubber through to the inside bit by bit...then from the inside pulled/lever'd the rubber through all the way till it set where its supposed too.
thats pretty much how i did it.
p.s be VERY careful not to flex the window...or it'll crack bad. and i got my windscreen for $20 lol Wreckers at oxley

You can put a piece of string (preferably nylon) in the channel where the inner part of the seal flicks up onto the frame. Place the windscreen on the outside of the frame, push a little and then get someone else to pull the string out (perpendicular to the window). This will pop the seal out onto the frame.

x2 i have done both my sierras this way, works a treat, no lube or anything. If you do a search there might be a video of someone doing it on the web.

Thanks for all the replys.
The string idea... how ingenious! I would never have thought of that.
Island - I'm doing the same, screen is a cheap one from the wreckers but took ages to find, have to do it right the first time.
Suzimad - Not coily, WT leaf.
Im going to sell the car so any $$ saved is $$ earned.
Thanks again all.

Yes definately use cord 3-4mm thick and you need to bang the glass/rubber around the edge with your hand as you pull the cord out.
Do not bang the glass with a closed hand or it will break easily, you can slap it with an open hand almost as hard as you want and it wont break but a small bang with a closed hand and kapow.
Dont rush and if you stuff up take it out and start again.

I like to use a length of electrical wire maybe 3mm diameter and use Windex to lube it........they almost fall in!
