as i say above i was diving on the beach last wk end at high tide trying to stay at 60 k an hour but i realised my car didnt like it.

when driving straight the front diff makes a thump as if it sounds like its poppin out of 4wd it is only every now and then can happen 4 times in a 100 m then once in a km when it got softer i realise it was actual clunking out of 4wd and go back into 2wd for bout 5 mins then clunks back into 4wd the hubs say there locked in properly,

any ideas much appreciated brendon

Sounds like you have a stuffed hub.
When they wear and jump like that.

x2 my auto hubs did that just before they exploded. patrol28 I have a set of man hubs here you can use if you get stuck for the weekend.

yea my free wheeling hubs did that a while ago. Picked up a 2nd hand set of avm hubs for 20 bucks just to make sure that was the problem before throwing a couple hundred at some 2nd hand nissan ones. All good now though
