Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi, well after driving around with 2 different front guards and some rather large amount of rust ive got in the roof gutter, ive decided on re-painting my MK.

Its metalic silver atm, but iam going to go for alpine white. (easier to spray ive been told)

anyone have anything they came up against that they didnt foresee and they could let me know about would be greatly appreciated. Iam not doing the inside of the engine bay, just the exterior.

how much paint do you recon id need and what would be the easiest? Acrylic or 2 pack enamel?

You will need about 3lt to do a swb MK properly with left over for repairs down the track.

Fix all the rust properly and spray with a 2pk paint as it is harder wearing than acrylic.....also come shiny off the gun......just wear a spray suite and proper breathing mask when painting....

My MK SWB cam up very well and the best way is to remove as much as possible and make sure you prep well as the finish is only as good as the prep.

Paint i think is each to there own yes two pack is better paint but you pay a lot for it too.
I have nearly finished praying my wagon in acrlic , and with the clear coat and a light buff comes up very shiney.

Prep work is your friend, along with finer filler putty i use marine putty dries fast and is the easiest thing to fill scrathes and stone chips,
theres no mixing just a little squirt on to your applicator and wipe over stone chip and marks.

Just remember when the color goes on all the imperfection show up.

And use a wire brush on the rush to expose it theres nothing worse then fresh paint and rust marks coming through
