Just curious as to what the voltage cutout is on an Engel 39 litre?

Curious as I just put in a new deep cycle battery and wanna monitor it?

Dave.

just in case you didn't know!
the fridge itself does not have a inbuilt low voltage cutout.
There are a range of after market low voltage protection units which
allow a choice of settings!
a quick search of the Engel site should answer what there unit cuts out at.
another supplier, google "sidewinder" He sells a range of these units!

cheers

So, am I correct to say, that once the battery reaches below 12v she will not operate?

out of memory i think it will still run down to about 11 volts. engel should be able to tell you. Id rather hurt a battery long term than loose food on a week long trip.

This is exactly what I was thinking.
But you may need to get a new battery after that trip.

Waeco has the trip out, Engel will run you fridge till the battery is dead flat
its all actually to do with the motors they run,
the Waeco has to run a trip due to the danfros compressor (motor), if it doesnt it will eventually burn the motor out due to low voltage,
Where as the Engel runs a swing motor (not coil wound, it uses a slow recip piston) and can operate on very low voltage and still work,
Ive had a couple of Waecos and now have a couple of Engels,
and ill never own another Waeco,
as mentioned if concerned you can buy a trip out,

Cheers fellas,

So if I were to put a battery monitor cut out on it, what do you reckon would be the ideal volt cut out.

Dave.
