did a search but didn't come up with anything much

if i take the pre air filter out on a MQ diesel and not doing any major dusty driving will it be ok? the main filter element is good.

doing a 2 inch body lift can some tell me exactly what needs to be done, i was going to use steel blocks. what size holes etc etc and what i need to do. I have a rough idea but just want to make exacly sure so i don't run into any trouble.

can i take the front swaybar off will it make any difference to the handling of the car onroad etc etc.

sorry if this has already been done b4

thanks

Sacha

Cant see it being a problem in the short term, I asume you need to move it for the 2" lift yeah ???

There are a few on here that have done this and have written it up quite well..... try Screwy Screwball or a more refined search may help. I recall seeing it described in the Nissan section not so long back and in the members section too.

it will flex a bit better off road but body roll onroad will increase.... take it easy untill you get used to the roll before ya flog it !!!

I took the front swaybar of my MK when I had her . . . god bless her little heart. To be honest I could not notice any difference, prolly because it was pretty stiffly sprung anyway.

Removing the front swaybar on an MQ will make such a little amount of difference onroad that u may as well rip it off. U will be thankful for it offroad. If u do an SOA however the swaybar is noticeable but i dont even run one with SOA and its my daily driver so there not a big thing in MQs.

removing that second filter will be fine. Its only there to collect the really fine stuff from getting though to the bigger filter, so as long as u dont drive on dusty roads very often u will be fine.

With the body Lift, you will either have to remove it completely or make up a new peice of piping to go between the 2 filters and the prefilter will come up 2 inches and existing piping wont fit.

If u are only doing 2 inch body lift, U will have to disconnect your fuel filler pipe until the lift is done and then put it back on. IT WILL STILL FIT WITH NO LEAKS FOR A 2 INCH LIFT. If u got to 3 u will have to get a new one.

You will also have to remove the bottom part of your fan shroud ( 2 botls either side ) so the fan wont hit it, u may have to slightly bend your gear stick ( i didnt need to ),

You will also have to undo the bolt that goes though your steering column just in front of the steering box so it can slide out with the lift ( knock the flange down to be sure before re tightening it after the lift ).

The rest is just unbolting and bolting up mounts and blocks etc. with the exception of the rear 2 mounts which u may not be able to find the step bolts for.
When u go in to get your longer bolts, take one of the front 8 out and get 6 new ones the required length longer and also take a rear one with u and ask for 2. If they cant to the rear ones ( probably ) u will have to drill a hole above your mounts just inside the car behind the tailgate and drill out the weld nut in there and put the same bolts as the rest in there with a nylock nut on the end ( use nylock nuts on all of the bolts ).

cheers,

Heath4x4 or somone like that did a awesome write up on a 2" body lift for a MQ SWB. I followed all his information and have had absolutely no problems with my lift at all.

I used poly blocks and high tensile bolts with locking nuts. All new washers and while i was there i cleaned and rustproofed all the mounts. Cost me around $50.00 for all the stuff and around 3 to 4 hours to do.

If u wanna hand just let me know

Yeah look at HeathX4 in the members section. He did a write up on an MQ body lift. I did mine before i became a member of outer limits.
I helped him with the info for his. I hope u can use his thread and wat i wrote above to get the job done.
I am concidering removing leaves and then adding another inch of body lift. If i go to 3 inches ill put a write up in my thread.

When i remove most of my leaves i will lose hieght and so will want to get an extra inch on the body to make up for it.

I will do a proper write up to 3 inches so that in future ppl can see all the things that need to be done for anything up to 3 inches and wont have to ask so frequently in the future as i know ive done a write up on a 2 inch lift several times.
