using a petrol fuel tank for diesel questions?

Im planning on using a gemini petrol tank ( behind the back seat type) on my MQ diesel patrol as a small warm up and shut down tank for a proper vege oil conversion this time round.

Managed to squeeze a sender out of a navara/720 in there so thats all sorted to work with factory gauge.

My query is about using the in tank fuel pump to pump help feed the lift pump on the injector pump. The tank line is 5/16 V's 3/8 on the patrol. Figuring if i just use intank pump i dont need to make a larger fuel line, etc.

Will the Rubber seals for the sender unit and pump stay good using diesel instead. I am figuring it will be ok, but am unsure?

With the tank behind the rear seats, it will be above the lift pump which will help feed it. Using a proper tank designed to be mounted in this position should prevent fuel odours, etc. Prob not legal, but should be okay if i keep it all sealed like it was in the gemini.

Hope i made it pretty clear, Thanks

Been using a petrol tank with diesel for almost a decade now. If the rubber lines handle petrol, then they'll handle diesel.

The tank want mind what fuel you put in it. All the manufactures of 4wds I know off appear to have the exact same tank between petrol and diesel. Patrols look identical.

if your planning on using a petrol lift pump you will probably find the pressures are too high and you will need some sort of reg and spill tank

sweet. As for pressure it was out of a carby model. prob about 8 psi. I was actually thinking it may restrict, but have pretty much decided to run it and see what happens
