Hi all,

Have a few queries:

Fitting of GXL rear seats in to a Standard (middle row)?

Are the petrol 4.5 and 1hz fan shrouds the same?

4.5 litre and 1hz water temp sensors the same?

91 1hz subtank soonoid, is a blue marlin petrol one compatabile (unsure of year)?

Chris,
The rear seats attach to the car with a steel bracket over the wheel arch so I don't think you can make them work in the centre of the vehicle. You would also need the locking points in the floor to lock them down.

Radiator is the same, but I'm not 100% on the shroud.

In a Diesel, you use the two tanks seperately, in a petrol it pumps the fuel from the sub into the main. So it's a different system as one activates a pump and the other activates the splitter to get fuel from which tank you select.

No good on the shroud. It was different.

The deisel uses the sub tank by draining it into the main tank, you cannot select to use the sub tank, you can only start filling it when the main tank gets down below half.

um, no. dont think so. The diesels 80 series use solinoid valves. When you hit the sub tank switch the vlves close the main tank outlet and return hose and open the sub tank outlet and return hoses. The two tanks are independent.
Petrol 80s have a transfer pump in the sub tank, this pumps fuel from sub tank into main.

Um no, the 80 series 1hz DIESEL I owned filled the sub tank into the main tank as the petrol does, it even states this in the owners manual and the service book that it does this,
and tells you to make sure the main tank is down to 1/4 before filling it from the sub tank, in which time you will see the sub tank gauge go down and the main tank go up.

Then why is there a three way soleniod on the return line?
Maybe it returns the fuel to the same tank it was taken from.

dont know skootin,??? just stating what mine did and what the gregory's manual etc stated.
Maybe toyota made both systems, hey???

Uuumm, well my turbo diesl 80, draws from each tank individually. I switch the switch and use whatever tank I want to. I know it does, I just did it to see what ks I can get out of each tank. Maybe tubo and non turbo are different.

My 1990 1hz draws from both tanks separately. The petrol models only pump fuel from the subtank to the main because the main tank has the high pressure pump to supply the efi motor. The diesels suck the fuel from what ever tank the solenoid has selected.

Yes it returns it to the tank that is selected so you don't drain it dry and have to keep swapping between tanks.
