I can't get spark in my Ls1 that i've put in the cruiser

There are a few extra plugs that aren't in anything but all the major sensors are plugged. Minus the temp sender as the wrecker removed it for some reason and the marks adapters oil pressure adapter is in where the standard oil pressure sensor is so the computer isn't getting that info. Do I need these to start it? Also I only have the PCM (apparently has securtity removed) not any of the other boxes like the BCM. Do I need these???

im under the impression you do need to bypass bcm. you cant simply leave things out of the loom you need to have one spliced into the cruisers.

So do I need the BCM or not??? Do I need the Powertrain interface module (PIM)? I'll need to get in contact with the wrecker (400kms away) and organise to pick these up if they are still in the yard. We have supplied ignition etc to what is needed but can't get any spark. Possibly no injector control either but that's a bit harder to test.

You do not need BCM or PIM, just need the PCM re-flashed to remove VATS security.
Did you get the crank sensor plug behind the starter, easy to miss

I bought a cheap PCM that was apparently reflashed and had a mafless tune on it but didn't work. I made sure the crank angle sensor was on before the sump went on but I'll check it again just to make sure. Would not having a speed sensor affect it at all?

Also the unlocked PCM has a sticker on it saying VU Ute only and the motor is from a VY ute. Could that be the problem?

I'll send mine off to get reprogrammed I think to guarantee it's not the computer that is at fault. I think it may be as the fuel pump cuts out when turned to start? Not getting spark either but the fuel cut off sounds like security... from what I've read in the manual anyways.

If it is a security fault, if you turn the key straight to start, the engine will fire and run for a second or 2, before it realises that the BCM and key are not there, and then shut off.
However if security has not been switched off it needs to be done anyway.

Damn wish I got that info earlier so I could have tested it before I posted the PCM's.
